For clinicians
Supervision and Training
Clinical supervision and training for practitioners.
This part of the practice is for clinicians rather than clients. I offer clinical supervision and training, drawing on a career spent supervising and developing practitioners across the NHS and in university settings.
Clinical supervision
Supervision is offered to qualified practitioners across a range of professional backgrounds, including CBT therapists and clinical and counselling psychologists.
The approach is collaborative and formulation-led. Supervision is a space to think clearly about the work, to hold clinical risk safely, and to keep developing as a practitioner rather than only to meet a requirement. I have completed accredited clinical supervision training and supervise across cognitive behavioural and broader psychological models, with particular experience in complex presentations. My clinical career has included work in both NHS Talking Therapies services and community mental health teams, which gives me a practical understanding of the contexts most supervisees are working in.
Training and teaching
I also provide training and teaching for teams and individual clinicians. I am an External Clinical Psychology Lecturer at the University of Essex and have taught on its Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme, and I have delivered training within the NHS on CBT and on service models for complex mental health needs.
Training can be arranged for topics including cognitive behavioural therapy, working with complexity and risk, and the design of psychological services. Sessions can be shaped around what a team actually needs rather than delivered off the shelf.
Practicalities
Supervision and training are available in person in Essex or remotely. Fees depend on the arrangement, whether that is ongoing individual supervision, group supervision, or a one-off piece of training, and are discussed at the point of enquiry.
